A lot of people believe that prescribed drugs are the best way of how to stop panic attacks. I was one of them – but now I can tell you that they are exactly what you shouldn’t go for – because such drugs often come with some severe side effects, or they might cause addiction. One more way of seeing that you shouldn’t mess with the chemicals inside your brain!
As I told you, I was a chronic anxious person, and a panic attacks sufferer. And I have realized that the best way of how to stop panic attacks is to do it by yourself. Simply said – you yourself are the best cure to your anxiety. You should never depend on drugs. You can cure your anxiety yourself because there is an inner spot in your brain that NOTHING can touch. You will use that part for curing your panic attacks. You will control your brain.
Scientific researches conducted on anxiety attacks all indicate that each such attack episode has a trigger. I know that it sounds contrary to what you think. I know from my experience that the episodes seem to be coming out of absolutely nowhere – they can come while you are cooking, while you are watching TV or while you are shopping. And isn’t it one of the most frightening aspects of the whole thing? That it can strike at any minute? But now, researches concluded otherwise – there are things which trigger your attacks.
Whatever your personal triggers can be, follow the procedure I’m about to tell you when you feel overly stressed or anxious, and they are going to help you greatly as they helped me.
Wherever you are, lie down. If you can’t, sitting in a comfortable chair will also do; but it’ll really be better if you lie down for this. Take one of your hands and place it on top of your stomach. And breathe slowly, and deeply. Deep breathing will send more oxygen to your brain, and your hands will make you feel the breathing more prominently.
Tense-relax your muscles. Tense each muscle for a few seconds and then relax them. Doing so gives you a very pleasant overall relaxed feeling. This works great in preventing the incoming episode. This is a good method on how to stop panic attacks.
Scientific research proves that there underlying triggers to panic attacks – and you can stop panic attacks by conditioning your mind hours before it actually occurs. This is called the “one move technique” and is how I stopped my panic attacks.
