Bipolar is something that many individuals are dealing with. If you are having problems trying to determine if you or a loved one is dealing with bipolar disorder, then we highly recommend you reading this article. As we continue, we are going to give you some bipolar disorder symptoms that you can use in order to determine if you have the disorder. Take note that you cannot fully diagnose any disorder by yourself, so you will need to go to a doctor for further treatment.

When it comes to the symptoms of this disorder, they will fall into three categories. The three categories consist of manic symptoms, psychotic and depressive bipolar disorder symptoms. If some of these disorders are showing up, then it may be time to get a consultation done.

When it comes to the manic bipolar disorder, there are a number of symptoms to watch for. However, they all share a certain feeling.

Everything is grander, faster and bigger than life. An individual with this problem may be more active than normal people. He or she may also talk and think faster than they normally would. Everything the person does is exaggerated and this includes their feeling of self-importance.

Next on our list, we have psychotic bipolar disorder. This can be mixed with depressive bipolar disorder. There may also be mixed moods. Basically, psychosis Is referring to a break with reality. There could be hallucinations, false beliefs and delusions.

Last, we have physical bipolar disorder symptoms. These symptoms could include a weight loss or weight gain, fatigue and sleeping or eating more than usual. If you feel as if things do not feel right, then it is not going to hurt to realize that you may be dealing with bipolar disorder. Take note that if you have even the slightest thought that you are dealing with this problem, then you should go to the doctor. Your doctor will be able to help you out and may even be able to give you a prescription to relieve those symptoms.

People suffering from mood disorders or mood swings are prescribed anti-depressants to allay their conditions. The most common ones associated with mood alleviation are tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs, tetracyclic antidepressants (TeCAs), serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

The medication for anti-depressant drugs are done by registered psychiatrists and physicians as these are prescribed for long periods of time, ranging from a few month to years. Doctors often use antidepressant drugs to treat other conditions like, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, chronic pain, and even some hormone-mediated disorders like dysmenorrhea.

Therapies like acupuncture, psychotherapy, electro-convulsive therapy, sleep disruption, increased light levels and regular exercise, may also use the term anti-depressant to cure a person ailing from clinically depression. Inert placebos have also been known to have considerable anti-depressant effects.

There are various types of anti-depressants like Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), Noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressants (NaSSAs), Norepinephrine (noradrenaline) reuptake inhibitors (NRIs), Norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors (NDRIs), Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), Monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOIs) and Augmenter drugs. Sedatives and tranquilizers are prescribed to ease anxiety and induce sleep but due to the high dependency factor, these drugs are prescribed for short term usage only.

If there is no response within 6 to 8 weeks of taking an anti-depressant drug, the doctor should change the anti-depressant from its present class to another class. However, once a person stops taking the drug, the effects of the drug wear off. This could lead to a relapse.

Often antidepressants have shown side effects and difficulty in tolerating them is a common reason for discontinuing an effective medication. The adverse effects of these drugs include diarrhea, nausea and headaches. There could also be loss of libido, erectile dysfunction or failure to reach orgasm. Other common side effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision dizziness, tremors, skin rash, and increase or decrease in weight.

There has long been a belief that to detox naturally means to allow our bodies to detox as a matter of course. In an ideal world where we are eating a healthy diet and leading a healthy lifestyle as our ancestors did then that might be a true statement. Our bodies do indeed have their own detox mechanisms.

The gut is designed to prevent bacteria and many toxins from entering the body. When harmful chemicals do enter the body the liver acts as an extraordinary chemical factory to make a water soluble compound that can be excreted by the kidneys, allowing the body to detox naturally. The body should be able to be re-hydrated with ordinary tap water and be refreshed with a good nights sleep.

Unfortunately in our present day and age the health of the gut cannot be taken for granted as a protector. More and more we are seeing health problems caused by increased permeability of the gut wall, which means it is not as capable of preventing toxins from entering the body. It is also unlikely that our liver is working at 100% efficiency as the excesses of our current lifestyles put an increasing burden upon it.

One of the main causes of gut permeability is gluten. More and more people are being diagnosed with gluten sensitivity. This basically means that any foods containing gluten should be eliminated from the diet. Unfortunately as with most allergies, gluten sensitivity is not something that our bodies will suddenly become tolerant to. Once the gene for gluten sensitivity has been activated it will continue to be a problem for ever, and as a result the bodies ability to detox naturally will be impaired

Gluten sensitivity is now so wide spread that the food industry has responded to the need and it is relatively easy (though more expensive) to find gluten free products that help to ease the problems associated with a gluten free diet.
